The Park District purchased Crestwood Park on July 10, 1930 for $9,678 and has conducted extensive renovations. With the help of neighbors, the District obtained a state grant of $70,000 and installed colorful, tubular playground equipment.
Crestwood Park Renovation 2013
Crestwood Park – near Dundee and Waukegan Roads – will receive new tennis courts, a practice tennis wall, a new playground and fitness equipment during the summer. The park is expected to reopen in September. The fitness equipment includes a chest press, leg press and elliptical trainer. The existing playground will be donated to Kids Around the World, a nonprofit that removes old play materials and installs them in other countries. Alternate locations for tennis during construction: West Park (closest), Stonegate Park and Wood Oaks Green Park.
