Carol’s personal stories remind us of our own life and family and the anecdotes that have shaped us. She believes that we keep our loved ones alive through story. Carol will tell about her late brother Andy Kaufman, known as “Latka” in the sitcom Taxi. She shares inside family stories that show what it was like being his kid sister along with stories of her parents.

The day begins with the annual Liberty Loop & Lap at Techny Prairie Park & Fields in the morning, followed by the Northbrook 4th of July parade down Cherry and Cedar Lane in the afternoon, and finishes with the big Northbrook 4th of July fireworks display in the evening.

Entertainment for younger audiences starts at 6:30pm, and all ages entertainment at 7:15pm. Drop in for Tot Open Play at the Leisure Center! Our mats, hoops, balls and toddler-friendly equipment are perfect for ages 5 and under. Children are invited to play with others or by themselves if they prefer and must be accompanied by a caregiver.
