The Northbrook community is invited to share its thoughts about potential improvements to West Park, a 24-acre park located behind the Northbrook Sports Center.

The Northbrook Park District is considering applying for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help fund the potential renovation of West Park, located at 1730 Pfingsten Road in Northbrook.

As part of this planning, the park district wants to ensure that obtaining the community’s feedback is central to the process.

West Park features seasonal soccer fields, two baseball fields, a softball field, two sand volleyball courts, three tennis courts, a playground, a drinking fountain and a walking path.

“West Park’s equipment and playground have reached the end of their useful life, and as we move to refresh those amenities, we are taking the opportunity to examine the park as a whole,” Northbrook Park District Executive Director Chris Leiner said. “We invite neighbors and park users to share their thoughts about the park’s amenities and their usage, and we look forward to getting their input.”
